Jason "Jay" Larson is an American stand-up comedian and writer from Stoneham, Massachusetts. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
Early life[]
Jay grew up in Stoneham, Massachusetts. The youngest of four, he was raised by his mother and grandmother. He attended Saint Anselm College and achieved a degree in English. While in school he played on the baseball team and played the Rabbi his Senior year in the school's production of Fiddler on the Roof. Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to be a writer and actor.
Career[]
In 2001, he did stand-up for the first time on his friend's show in Hollywood and did well. He essentially skipped the open mic scene and began performing at shows and clubs. In 2004, Jay became a paid regular at The World Famous Comedy Store. The following year he got "New Faces" at the Montreal Comedy Festival.[3]
Jay has appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Conan, and in 2011 had a half-hour special on Comedy Central. His story "Wrong Number" made the front page of Reddit and was featured on This American Life with Ira Glass.[4] In 2015, Larson appeared on Comedy Central's This Is Not Happening.
Larson's first album, Self Diagnosed, was released in 2011 by AST records, and his second album, Human Math, is set to release in the fall of 2016.[5]
Film Television[]
Larson co-hosted two seasons of Esquire Network's Best Bars in America. In the spring of 2015, Larson appeared in the thriller film The Invitation. The Karyn Kusama-directed film led to a role in the third season of Twin Peaks, to air on Showtime in 2017.[6] Larson has also created two television shows for NBC Universal that were not picked up.[7]

The CrabFeast is a Conversational Story Telling Podcast hosted by Jay Larson and Ryan Sickler. The CrabFeast has been featured on The Pete Holmes show and was nominated for a stitcher award for best Comedy Podcast in 2012. The CrabFeast has live episodes recorded at SXSW, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Riot LA, LA Podfest and Sketchfest. Some of The CrabFeast guests have included Pete Holmes, Kumail Nanjiani, Chris D'elia, Jay Mohr, Adam Carolla, Rory Scovel, Dana Gould, Hannibal Burress, Michael Ian Black, Nick Thune, Retta, Nate Bargatze, Chris Pratt, Anna Faris, and Andrew Santino.
